Are you there?

1. Date night while Jordan's parents were visiting...Happy hour, Cheesecake Factory, Movie. Bliss. The red floral headpiece I wore was awesome too.
2. Charlie got dressed up to take lunch to Daddy...the first article of clothing she's ever refused to take off.
3. First morning wagon walk we've been able to take in 4 months!
4. Charlie's friend Katie sweetly riding the carousel at the mall.
5. Charlie watching Katie sweetly ride said carousel because she could not get herself together. Worst tantrum EVER.
6. Precious.
7. If you could only hear the crazy cackle coming out of her mouth.
8. Kid loves pineapple, and ravioli, and well everything except Swiss cheese.

I have successfully not blogged in 2 months. Go me.  I have been caught in the tricky Blog vs. Post-Everything-on-Facebook dilemma... I don't want to over share on Facebook, but it's much easier  and quicker to use it. Booooooo.  But for the sake of keeping an "online scrapbook" for myself and my fam, I will try to post more regularly. My next post will feature current stats on the kiddos because it's been a while!

A Couple Things

 Charlie welcoming us into her new, cardboard house.
Uncle Todd is awesome for many reasons, including the fact that he bought Charlie ALL the stickers the store had to offer.
And he feeds babies too.

1. Uncle Todd came from L.A. to spend the week with Jordan and I.  We loved eating pizza, watching movies, doing arts & crafts, and discussing life as well as Justin Bieber. I am always sad when he leaves because it makes me wish we all lived closer and could be a more daily part of one another's lives.  Love Todd big time.

2. SO pumped for the Olympics. Opening ceremonies are FRIDAY!

3. SO pumped for the Bachelorette Finale tonight.  They're claiming the "Most unpredictable ending in Bachelorette history." Ever. In the history.

4. Teddy has started "waving" and it's the single cutest thing I've ever seen.

2

Charlie's 2nd birthday consisted of the following:

1. Homemade beanbags and a banner from her mama.
2. A sleepy brother.
3. Daddy assembling __________.
4. Frosting from the Tupperware.
5. A delicious lollipop.
6. An emergency bubble bath after said lollipop.
7. Trip to the greatest place on Earth,  Chick-fil-a.
8. Snickerdoodle cupcake with whipped cream cheese frosting. She did not care for it, cake is not her thing.She would rather have a "Cuppa cheeps?" (couple chips)
9. So many kind wishes, presents, and spoiling by lots of friends and family!

I will spare you my sappy thoughts for now on what the last two years have meant, except to say that Charlie has changed the entire scope of Jordan and my life.  She is my biggest daily challenge, yet my absolute greatest source of joy.  She is every cliche thing parents say about their children, and I thank Jesus every day that He not only blessed us with a child, but blessed
us with Charlie

9 Months

Doc says Teddy is "Super strong, and super handsome!" I concur.
The outtakes are for sure better than the actual monthly photos. New nicknames for these two: Zen and Drama...guess which is which?

Still Here

This sums up what they are doing these days.

Charlie is doing things she's not supposed to (drinking bath water).
Teddy is doing things I'm not ready for him to do (scale tables, bathtubs and the like).

We're still here, and until Blogger magically doesn't make me want to scream, posts will be light.  I have a lovely friend that is currently working on a new blog for me to call home and I am super grateful and super excited.  Yay for a fresh blog!

2 under 2

 {browsing the weekly ads}
 {feeling puny}

We are taking these knuckle-heads to Oregon tomorrow for Jordan's cousin's wedding!!! The last "free" flight for Charlie...Lord help us with our 2 under 2!

8 months

My little guy is 8 months and as always, I am in disbelief.  He is officially crawling, has 7 teeth and is eating "solid" food.  This little darling is his mama's boy and my whole heart.

Happenings

1. I could have edited out Teddy's large pimple (on his cheek, his forehead is always red),  but today we're character building.
2. In order to cut her hair I created the perfect storm of Caillou Distraction, well, just Caillou Distraction.
3. Who needs playground equipment?
4. She stayed perched atop her Pampers for 4 minutes. Which is longer than I've seen her sit still, umm, ever.

4 Truths

Q: Were we all in bed by 8:18 pm last night?
A: Yes.

Q: Did we miss Trash Day this morning?
A: Yes.

Q: Are 3/4 of the people in this house battling a case of the sniffles?
A: Yes.

Q: Did I trim Charlie's hair this morning with kitchen scissors?
A: Yes.

These questions are too easy.

Boo.

In an attempt to refresh my mood I decided to try a homemade face mask meant to energize your skin. The original recipe seemed to make a slumber party size quantity so I cut it in half and still have enough for two more masks {one for me, one for Jordan?}. Here's exactly what I did:

2 T. ground coffee
2T. cocoa powder
1 T. Lemon juice (they said use honey if you have dry skin, lj if you have oily skin)
2 T. milk (I used 2% bc it's what I had, they said use more or less depending on how thick you like your mask)

I applied it, let it dry (about 20 min) and then with a hot washcloth wiped it all off...It was lovely, made my skin kind of glow and felt smoother, thanks to the grit in the coffee grounds...I give it two thumbs up!

Sitting

{Confession:I scratched his sweet face trying to get his chubby arms into the carseat. It drew blood. I wanted to cry}

6 months stats

*This month I weigh 17 pounds and am 27 in. (50% for weight, 75% for height)
*I am sprouting one bottom tooth, that is causing me to be a hot mess
* Took my first swim and was less than thrilled about it
*I love to grab everything, especially Charlie's pigtails
*My mama forgot my half-birthday. Thanks, Grammie, for reminding her ;)
*I also took a trip to the Phx Zoo and a Rockies Spring Training game
*I am sitting up, with a little help

Poor guy has had a few really rough days, trying to push that first tooth through...he has taken teething so much harder than Charlie ever did, which reminds me that no two babes are the same! LOVE ME SOME TEDDY!

Bathtime Fun

One of the great things about having Grandparents stay with you is the courage an extra set of hands gives you...We got both kids bathed at the same time, in the same tub.
And everyone survived.

Today we had an early birthday celebration for Jim (birthday is next week)...complete with balloons (which became Charlie's), surf & turf, cupcakes, and some delicious micro-brews. I love a birthday, even if it's not mine!

Didn't Have the Heart

I couldn't bear throwing the tee in the garbage, so i made it into a pillow for my little man to enjoy...The shirt lives on.

The Death of a Shirt

As of yesterday, Jordan and I have been a couple for 10 years (to which we high-fived). For about the last 9 years I have begged, pleaded, and plotted to make this tee-shirt disappear. But after a long and wonderful relationship, Jordan himself suggested, "I might be ready to get rid of my Bauer shirt." WHAT??!!???

You and Jordan have had many, many, many good memories but the time has
come to say goodbye!

Lessons in Horticulture

Miss C has been fine-tuning her green-thumb by helping me water our lemon tree.
If it dies, I'm blaming her.

Colorado

{This was only the beginning of the snow}
{Preparing for the outdoors}
{I think she loved it}
{Tedders}
{Great Papa and Great Grandma Rose}
{Hanging with Papa before he had to go to school}
{Max and Ben were so sweet and gentle with the babes}
{Tickling the ivories at Grandma and Grandpa's house}

In early February, thanks to the help of both Grandmas, the babies and I headed to Colorful Colorado for a week! We made it just in time for a major snowstorm, which I secretly LOVED. Although the snow ruin some of our plans to see some friends and family, it was a wonderful excuse to spend quality time snowed in. Traveling with two small kids is no small task and I quickly realized "simple" is the name of the game. So, my apologies for not getting to see many people while we were there. And let me add a HUGE thank you to my mother-in-law and my mom for being the saints that you are and helping make this such an incredible trip home.
